Construction of the dairy complex in the Republic of Bashkortostan

On October 10, 2013 the Group of Companies DAMATE and Bashkortostan Government signed the Agreement of Partnership in Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The subject of this agreement is the mutually beneficial cooperation for implementation of the investment project on construction of the dairy commodity complex for 12,110 heads and the genetic center for dairy herd reproduction in the territory of Bashkortostan. Under this agreement AIC DAMATE will invest 8.8 billion Rubles into this project.

According to the agreement, the DAMATE Dairy Complex will be constructed using innovative technologies that have not been applied in Russia until now. The area of the Complex will be 200 hectares and another 30 thousand hectares will be needed for the feed production. The projected milk yield per cow is 10 tons per year and the entire complex output will be 287 tons of milk per day or 105 thousand tons per year.

The facilities of the Complex will include two low-profile barns for loose housing with the cross-ventilation system, three carousel milking parlors: two – for 80 heads each and one – for 40 heads. In addition, it is planned to build a genetic center for dairy stock reproduction; in the fall of next year it is expected to receive the first batch of heifers.

The construction site for the new DAMATE Complex has been already chosen near the Komsomol Village of the Gafuriiskiy Rural Local Administration. The works on the land-surveying and the project design are in progress. The inclusion of the project into the list of top priority investment projects of Bashkortostan is under consideration.

On November 01, 2013 the Group of Companies DANONE Russia and the Group of Companies DAMATE within the framework of the meeting between Chairman of RF Government Dmitry Medvedev and French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault signed the Agreement of Intentions to implement a joint project in milk production. This Agreement was also signed by Yves Legros, the CEO of the Group of Companies DANONE Russia, and Naum Babaev, the Chairman of the Board of the Group of Companies DAMATE.

This Agreement provides for construction of several milk farms in the Tyumen Region and the Bashkortostan Republic. All milk produced by these farms will be sold to DANONE factories. Additionally, DANONE intends to provide some financial support to these projects and also invest its knowledge and expertise to make them most efficient. Implementation of these projects will help to increase production of premium quality milk and to enhance standards of the dairy farming in Russia.
