Opening of the dairy complex of DAMATE Group for 4600 heads in Tyumen region

On December 7, the opening ceremony of the milk production complex for 4,600 heads of DAMATE Group was held in the Golyshmanovsky district of Tyumen region. The complex became the largest dairy farm on the territory of Siberia. The event was attended by the Governor of Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev, the director of the department of animal husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Kharon Amerkhanov, the management and employees of DAMATE Group.

The construction of the dairy complex was begun in late 2015 as part of a previously signed agreement between DAMATE and the Government of Tyumen region. The project cost was 5.6 billion rubles that were financed by Damate's own funds, bank financing from Russian Agricultural Bank (Rosselkhozbank JSC) and investments from Danone. Under the signed agreement between DAMATE and Danone, all the milk produced at the complex is sent to Danone.

The structure of the complex is represented by 5 large barns for keeping the main herd, a maternity barn, 3 buildings for keeping heifers of breeding age and uncalved heifers, 5 buildings of calf village for keeping dairy calves, and 4 pavilions for growing heifers from 5 to 12 months. The complex has all the necessary infrastructure, including a feed storage area. DAMATE Group has been actively engaged in crop production in the region since 2014, about 12 thousand hectares of land are under its management. At the complex, feed reserves has already been created and calculated for a minimum of 18 months.

The importation of Holstein-Friesian cattle has been started in December 2016. Animals from Germany, Denmark and Holland were imported in regular batches according to a pre-established schedule. The stocking of the complex was completed in September 2017, and currently there are 5350 heads. The first milk was received on a new farm in March this year, and from May, supplies to the Yalutorovskiy dairy plant (belong to Danone) began.

After reaching full capacity, the complex will produce 120 tons per day or 42 thousand tons of milk per year, milk yield for a cow is 9 thousand liters per year.
