Damate Group, one of the largest turkey producers in Russia, announced operational results achieved over the past 12 months of 2019 in three businesses: production and processing of turkey, dairy farming and milk processing.

Turkey production

In 2019, Damate produced more than 131 thousand tons of turkey meat in slaughter weight, which is 48% more than in 2018. The increase in volumes is associated with the project to expand the production and processing facilities of turkey up to 155 thousand tons per year, which is scheduled for completion in 2020. The project is in the final stage, most of the facilities have been launched. In 2019, Damate opened the largest turkey production plant in Europe, began expanding the hatchery up to 25.4 million eggs per year, and commissioned 64 rearing and fattening houses. Fodder production capacities were increased up to 430 thousand tons per year. Thanks to the opening of two elevators, the total volume of one-time grain storage reached 215 thousand tons. In addition, Damate is building a plant for deep processing of turkey meat with a capacity of up to 214 tons per day, the launch of which is scheduled for the first half of 2020.

Dairy farming

The milk yield at the dairy complex Damate in Tyumen region increased by 36% compared to 2018 and amounted to 44 thousand tons. Last year, the company completed the expansion of the largest dairy complex in Siberia, envisaging an increase in the dairy herd from 4.6 thousand to 6 thousand heads; livestock deliveries are under way at the complex. At the moment, the total number of cattle is 10 thousand heads, of which 5 thousand are cows. After reaching full capacity, the gross milk yield will be 150 tons per day or 55 thousand tons per year.

Milk processing

Milk processing is represented at Damate by the largest processor in Penza region – the Penza Dairy Plant. At the end of 2019, the company complied with the plan and produced 51 thousand tons of dairy products. Production volumes increased by 15% compared to the same period last year. At Molcom, the next stage of production modernization worth 1.5 billion rubles is being executed, in the framework of which the most important infrastructure sections were updated, new technological equipment was installed, and a new line for the production of cottage cheese desserts was assembled and launched. In the spring of 2019, Molcom introduced a new product to the market – Dessertel branded cottage cheese mousses. The expansion also affected the range of soft cottage cheese and dairy products for children.

Plant growing

In 2019, the total croppage in Penza and Tyumen regions amounted to 47.4 thousand tons, which is 19 thousand tons more than in 2018. The company manages over 57 thousand hectares of land, which allows Damate to provide turkey and cattle livestock with feed of its own production.
