Damate to invest 2.7 billion rubles in the modernization of "Kavkaz Meat"

Damate Group has begun reconstruction of "Kavkaz Meat" meat processing plant in Cherkessk. The modernization is carried out within the framework of the project for the production of mutton in the North Caucasus Federal District. The reconstruction will be completed in May 2021. The total investment in the project is 2.7 billion rubles. The financial partner is Rosselkhozbank JSC. As a result of full commissioning, the capacity of the plant will be 720 thousand heads per year. The company plans to produce 42 tons of products per day or 12.6 thousand tons per year.

The ceremony of laying the foundation stone in connection with the beginning of the reconstruction of the Kavkaz myaso enterprise was attended by the head of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Rashid Temrezov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mikhail Babich, Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Pedigree Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Butusov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damate Naum Babayev, General Director of Damate Rashid Khairov, representatives of local government bodies and the banking industry, project partners.

 “We have set ourselves the goal of reviving the production of mutton in the North Caucasus Federal District and to bring this industry to a completely new higher level by joint efforts. During the implementation of the project, we plan to pay attention to all stages of mutton production, including breeding and feeding, and meat processing will become the final and most important link. That is why we are carrying out a large-scale modernization of the slaughterhouse, which will become the most advanced sheep breeding enterprise in the country. We are sure that the implementation of this project will become one of the most important steps in the revival of the industry traditional for the North Caucasus,” said Naum Babayev, co-founder of Damate.

The modernization of the plant is carried out in accordance with five principles: technology, sanitation, quality, ecology and modernization.

As part of the project, a highly automated slaughter line with a capacity of 300 heads per hour will be installed; a modern product quality control system at each stage of production will be created. To comply with sanitary standards, production will be divided into "dirty" and "clean" zones will be created. Damate uses the most modern technical equipment in the reconstruction of the plant.

An important part of the modernization project implementation will be the installation of modern local waste treatment systems and the organization of the processing of industrial waste of the enterprise.

В результате реализации проекта будет создано порядка 450 новых рабочих мест.

The total area of the meat processing plant is 12 hectares. The main production facilities are located on an area of 17 thousand м2.

The plant will produce natural semi-finished lamb meat products, minced meat, marinades and canned food in glass and iron containers. The products will be Halal and Kosher certified.

As a result of the project implementation, about 450 new jobs will be created.
