The Ambassador of Belarus to the Russian Federation highly appreciated the largest turkey processing plants Damate in Russia

Oleg Melnichenko, the Governor of Penza region, and Dmitry Krutoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Russia, visited the enterprises of Damate within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of Brest region to Penza region, which took place on 30 October 2023. The delegation included the Governor of Brest region Yuri Shuleiko, heads of a number of regional cities, representatives of more than a dozen major enterprises of the region and Belarus, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the regional science and technological park.

The guests of the enterprise highly appreciated the work and the level of production organisation at the turkey processing plant and the turkey deep processing plant of Damate Group of Companies. The plants visited by the distinguished guests are located in close proximity to each other and are part of a large-scale investment project on turkey production with a capacity of 207 thousand tonnes per year, which is being implemented in the region. To date - these are the largest turkey processing plants in Russia and Europe.

"According to the results of 2022, Damate produced 216 thousand tonnes of turkey meat, which is 8% more than in 2021. 166 thousand tones of this volume were produced in Penza region," - said Oleg Melnichenko.

For five years Damate Group has been firmly holding the first place in turkey production in the country, leading the list of the largest turkey producers in Europe and ranking fifth in terms of turkey production volumes in the world.

"The company's production facilities are unique in Russia in terms of the level of technical equipment and the number of implemented innovative solutions - information technologies and artificial intelligence," said Dmitry Krutoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Russia.

In addition to processing and deep processing, the vertically integrated project of Damate includes all stages of production: incubation, growing and fattening, feed production, crop production. The project has been gradually implemented in Penza region since 2012 and has now reached the finish line. The enterprises of the turkey production complex in Penza region employ 5.5 thousand people. The volume of investments totals 74 billion rubles, with Rosselkhozbank acting as a financial partner throughout the entire implementation period.
