Damate Group has built the largest sheep fattening complex in the North Caucasus Federal District with a capacity of up to 50,000 heads. It is located in the Udarny village, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. The total investment in the project is 540 million rubles. As a result of the launch of the new facility, 120 jobs have been created. The site was built as part of the Damate project for the production and processing of mutton in the North Caucasus Federal District.

The opening ceremony of the fattening complex was attended by the head of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Rashid Temrezov, Director of the Livestock Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Voskresensky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damate Naum Babayev, CEO of Damate Andrey Sedov, representatives of the National Union of Sheep Breeders, and the banking sector. The guests highly ranked the amount of work done and the technical equipment of the new facility.

The construction of the site was carried out in stages. The second stage, which began in June 2023, included the construction of 16 shades for cattle, feed tables, a feed warehouse and a carport. In addition, an administrative and household building, biological safety facilities have been built, and all necessary utilities have been installed at the site.

To date, more than 21,000 heads of highly productive animals have been brought, and more than 50% of the volume has been filled. Before receiving new animals, feedlots underwent special service preparation such as cleaning, disinfection, and covering the floors with clean straw. The arrival of livestock on the site is ongoing. Taking into account the planned herd turnover, the site is expected to reach its design capacity by the end of the year.
"We are confident that the creation of such facilities is a big step in the development of the agro-industrial complex not only for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, but also for the entire North Caucasus. This event will give an additional impetus to the development of sheep breeding and, of course, will provide a raw material base for the meat processing plant in Cherkessk," emphasized the head of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Rashid Temrezov. - "And in the future we will make every effort to create comfortable conditions for doing business and improve the investment climate in this area.

Through various mechanisms of state support, thanks to the initiative of private business and with the active position of public authorities, we are together solving one of the priority tasks set by the President of our country Vladimir Putin - to ensure food security of our country".

"Damate Company keeps implementing a large-scale lamb production project in the North Caucasus Federal District. Our goal is to create a nucleus of highly productive animals. And increasing the capacity of the site in Udarny village is another step that will allow us to bring sheep breeding in the region to a new level. Thanks to the opening of the second stage, we will increase the volume of raw materials for our plant in Cherkessk, and farmers will have even more opportunities to sell their lambs," said Andrey Sedov, General Director of Damate.

The fattening complex is designed for the year-round housing of sheep. The animals come here from farms in the North Caucasus - partners of Damate Service Company. The lambs are sheared, sorted and put into paddocks. Fattening takes 45-65 days depending on the initial weight. After that the sheep are sent to Damate's lamb processing plant located in Cherkessk. Such a short period of fattening is achieved with the help of balanced rations.
The Damate lamb production project in the North Caucasian Federal District includes the largest lamb processing plant in Russia, breeding and fattening grounds, a service company for working with farmers and a breeding and genetic center.
