Damate will expand the current turkey production project by 27% up to 264 thousand tons per year through the construction of five new poultry blocks. Damate signed a corresponding agreement with the Government of Penza region on the platform of SPIEF-2024.

Damate Group, the largest turkey meat producer in Russia, will additionally invest more than 16.5 billion rubles in the expansion of the turkey production project and increase the existing production capacity by 27% - from 207 up to 264 thousand tons of turkey in slaughter weight per year. The corresponding agreement was signed between Damate and the Government of Penza region at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum-2024.

The growth of meat processing will be due to the construction of five new poultry blocks consisting of turkey rearing and fattening houses. The facilities will be built in districts of Penza region.

The project's financial partner is Russian Agricultural Bank, JSC Rosselkhozbank.

«This is a very serious result of work,» emphasized Naum Babaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damate. «Many thanks to the leadership of Penza region for their trust, help and support. We meet regularly, and the oucome of these meetings always result in a clear action plan, which is being implemented and even exceeded. Penza region is a key region for the development of Damate.»

In addition to the poultry houses, the project involves the construction of all infrastructural and auxiliary facilities: feed hoppers, sanitary passages, a shed for litter storage, a weighing room for turkey shipment, as well as a site for composting of manure and litter.

All sites will be equipped with modern technologies, connected to electricity, gas and water supply. All processes of poultry life support - feeding, drinking, ventilation, climate control - will be automated.

The poultry houses will be built in full compliance with the biological and sanitary requirements of the current legislation, taking into account the necessary distance from each other in order to comply with all biosafety standards.

«As a result of the project implementation, turkey meat production in Penza region will be increased and will reach a record high. This, in turn, will give an additional impetus to the development of the agrarian sector of the region's economy and the poultry industry of the country as a whole, as well as contribute to the food security of Russia,» said Andrey Sedov, CEO of Damate Group. «The turkey market continues to demonstrate steady positive dynamics, but we are still far from saturation of the potential market. Interest in healthy nutrition, growing consumer demand and export opportunities are reliable and positive factors that make it worthwhile to expand Damate's production capacity.»

Implementation of the project will create 250 additional new jobs for the residents of the region.

«The Damate Group of Companies is expanding its projects in the Penza region, creating new jobs and providing Penza residents with quality food products,» stated Oleg Melnichenko.
