Damate launched canned food production in KCR
Damate Group, implementing a mutton production project in the North Caucasus Federal District, has launched the production of canned food. The new project was implemented as part of the modernization of Russia's largest mutton processing plant in Cherkessk (Karachay-Cherkess Republic). The capacity of canned food production is 5.5 thousand tons of meat products or up to 20 million cans per year. Investments in construction and equipment amounted to 231 million rubles.
The launch of the new production took place on July 3. First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Khizir Chekuyev visited the new facility and highly assessed the amount of work done. Leonid Hanukaev, Vice President for Development of Damate Group, told the guests about the project.
The total area of the new production is 1000 m2. The production consists of a pre-packing department, a sterilization department, a packaging department, a finished product warehouse, auxiliary and household premises, such as warehouses for storing vegetables and spices, premises for their preparation and a number of infrastructure facilities. 20 units of modern high-tech equipment are installed in the production.
Mutton and turkey are used as raw materials for the production of canned food. The products are manufactured under the BazarCo and Indilight brands and are certified according to Halal standards. The assortment of canned food includes ready-made dishes: lamb stewed and classic, turkey stewed and homemade. Convenient format allows saving time when cooking. The products are designed for long-term storage up to 2 years and can be considered for deliveries under the state order.
The products will be sold through wholesale and retail channels, as well as federal and regional retail chains throughout the country.
Thanks to the opening of a new production facility, 50 jobs will be created with a 2-shift work schedule.
It should be recalled that in September 2022, Damate launched a lamb slaughter and processing plant in Karachay Cherkessia with a capacity of 25 thousand tons per year. After the plant reaches its design capacity, the volume of processing of the enterprise will be 300 heads per hour or 42 tons of products per shift. Investments in the re-equipment of the enterprise amount to 3.4 billion rubles, the financial partner is "Rosselchozbank" JSC.
